“Know your heritage.”

Humans often latch onto things without truly considering their context.

The Confederate States of America lasted from 1861 to 1865. Yet many still fly its flag as if it were an Ancient Greek dynasty. Meanwhile, most popular TV shows have had longer runs.

Are these people delusional? Racist? Or are they just ignorant?

I honestly don’t know. But hopefully this graph helps put this “heritage” into context for the misinformed.
